It was a Monday morning and nothing seemed to go right. You see, it was the time of the year when we had to consolidate all the different records, total up our profit and loss and finally print out a lot of reports. Initially everything seemed to work just right until the printer stopped spewing out the printed matter. It was a high stress time and everyone panicked. So, we made a frantic phone call to the company which took care of all the computer hardware maintenance and told them to quickly send someone over.
The printer guy arrived just in time to see what crisis was brewing in our office at this time. Upon checking, it was found out that there was not any major defect with the printer cartridge and the laser printer cartridge was defective. We put the decision to replace it on hold moved on to the next printer. The toner refill needed to be replaced on one of the printers and it was done in a jiffy and at an affordable price also. Tension flew out the window and we tried to finish up our work before the evening deadline. All of us knew that the boss wanted the printed copy of the report on his desk before closing time.
We finally managed to finish up all our work and the boss was fully satisfied with our performance. One thing we learned from this event was that one should never neglect the maintenance aspect of any item and stock up on the bulk toner printer cartridges especially during the times when a large number of reports will be generated. Otherwise, during the crisis moments, it might let you down and you might up getting stranded without any solution in sight.
